Services for Professionals

The following Time to Play services can be customised to your needs. Please contact Emma to discuss your requirements.

Play and creative arts therapy (for individual children).

For details click here.
Please note: for individual play and creative arts therapy delivered on your site, there is a minimum booking requirement of 2 clients per half day.

Play and creative arts therapy (for small groups).

This is appropriate for a small group of 3 children of similar age with lower-level difficulties who are struggling with a single, specific issue (e.g. peer interaction, low self-esteem) or have experienced the same life event (e.g. parental separation, bereavement). Sessions are weekly at the same time and location and are more therapist-directed than individual play and creative arts therapy. The length of sessions depends on the age of the children attending (usually 30-60 minutes).

Whole group strengths and difficulties assessment report.

Sometimes it can be difficult to decide which children should be prioritised for play and creative arts therapy. Time to Play has developed an assessment mechanism to support the decision making process. To produce useful data, a short tick box questionnaire needs to be completed for each child in the group by someone who knows the children well.
Whole group assessments can form the basis for a rolling programme of therapy for children in your organisation. If difficulties are identified and addressed early, this may help to prevent escalation in later years.

Playful practitioners training (suitable for 1:1 work with children)

Effective one to one work with children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties can be both challenging and rewarding. Using principles of contemporary play-based attachment, this training uses a combination of theory and practice-based activities to help new or more experienced staff to build play-based, nurturing relationships to support the specific child that they are working with in your organisation.
